Mentor
Program "Make
new members successful Shriners" It is the vision and the mission of the membership committee to make every new Shriner that becomes a member at Bahia Shrine a successful asset to our fraternity. When a man takes the time and makes the commitment to become a Noble of the Mystic Shrine, he does it for a reason. He is looking for something, it might be a specific unit, or the parades, or the dances, or maybe he is just looking for the commodore and friendship of some other people.
What ever
it is, it becomes our responsibility to
find out what he wants, and find a way to get him involved. Then we must
help him achieve it. For this reason we are implementing a "Mentor
Program" or a big brother for all new Nobles. Each
new Noble will be assigned a Mentor, and he will become an instant
contact, and a friend that the new Noble has at the Shrine. This will
help the new Noble learn about meetings, what to wear, when the Ladies
may come, and any other questions they might have. The Mentor will be
responsible to keep the new Noble constantly informed of activities
coming up at the Shrine. If we want to see our fraternity
grow in membership, we must lake care of each of our new members as
though they were going to be in training to be a future leader of our
Shrine. If we make them a success, and help them build a career in the
Shrine, they will bring more people with them. This will increase our
membership and develop men we can all be proud of as Shriners. Duties
of the Mentor... 1.
Inform and meet new Noble at stated meetings. 2.
Introduce him to other Nobles. 3.
Introduce his Lady to other Ladies. 4.
Take him around to units/clubs of interest to him. 5.
Be sure he knows of all upcoming functions. 6.
Use the telephone to keep in contact. 7.
Attend some parades or functions together, include the Ladies whenever possible. 8.
Always be available for any Questions. 9.
Keep the new Noble involved. 10. Have a good time. |
