Greetings From The Shrinettes
May was a busy month for Bud and me. We attended Florida Shrine Association events May 1-3; the Potentate's Ball, May 10; and out trip with the Potentate to Ireland. Also traveling with Illustrious Butch Carpenter and First Lady Pat were Bob and Dee Kemp, Helen Muller and her long time girl friend from up north, and Bill and Maureen England's neighbor, Barbara Elridge. New Smyrna Shrine Club was well represented. As this message is written before our trip, I'm sure everyone had a fabulous trip.
We voted at our May meeting to cancel our June meeting. We've done this for several years as June is usually slow for us. Please come to the picnic luncheon the Nobles are having June 14 at noon. They will be honoring both Mother's and Father's. For our Ireland travelers, please bring some of your photos to share with others at the picnic.
There will be no meeting in July and August. Our next meeting will be September 11 and we will have our craft session to make Christmas trees from Christmas cards as we were unable to do this in May. Come join us at 10:30 a.m. and bring scissors and Christmas cards you may have.
Please take note in Noble Bud's message this month about the Kyle Petty official jacket the NSB Shrine Club has tickets to sell. The jacket is awesome with all the sponsor patches, not to mention Kyle Petty's autograph. Let's help the men move some tickets to help raise funds for upcoming expenses. If you are a racing fan and/or have friends who are, please contact Bud or me to pick up some tickets to sell.
